Jeehye Song ( b. 1991 Seoul) is a Korean artist who lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Song majored in Print Making and graduated from Chugye University for the Arts in 2010. Three years later, she received her bachelor’s degree in Metal Art and Design at Seoul National University of Science&Technology. Afterwards she moved to Düsseldorf, Germany, to study at Kunstakademie in the classes of Prof. Andreas Schulze and Stefan Kürten. She successfully graduated in 2021. Since then, she has had solo shows in Germany (Artothek Köln, Ruttkowski;68), Italy (IAH Gallery), and South Korea ( IAH Gallery) and participated in a number of group shows (ie. Août gallery, Beirut, Lebanon).

Song’s work is inspired by her daily life, which she transforms into unusual situations and scenarios in order to create new perspectives. Her paintings can be understood as a diary of her everyday life which is enhanced by her personal emotions and their processing. Her cartoon-like characters, set in a mundane, simple setting, appear almost comical as they struggle to accomplish easy tasks. Through humor, the artist aims to eliminate the barriers and distance between the viewer and the artwork.
